DuraplexPlaskolite Duraplex High-Impact Acrylic Rainier Windows believes in Plaskolite and its plastics. We also believe in you and that is why we exclusively use their specially modified high impact acrylic for our Rainier crystal series windows. Rainier Windows has years of test experience with many different plastics and we have chosen the Duraplex acrylic as a viable alternative to polycarbonate for our windows. Although not completely break resistant like polycarbonate, this modified high impact acrylic has performed extremely well in testing and is 10 times more break resistant than regular acrylic. Duraplex offers an outstanding substrate solution for our lower priced Rainier Crystal series windows, plus it also offers greater design flexibility on curves and scratch repair possibilities. Duraplex High Impact Duraplex modified high impact acrylic has excellent weather ability, very good scratch resistance, outstanding optical clarity and high impact resistance and strength. Because it is not coated like scratch-resistant polycarbonate, it can be used for tighter curves and scratches and mars may be able to be polished out, adding years to its viable use. It is warranted against yellowing, and loss of light transmission for 5 years. Although it is not guaranteed against breakage, it can take tighter curves because it is not limited by a scratch resistant coating. The lack of coating also enables one to reduce scratches by polishing.
